When it comes to basic dictionary definition lookup for words, Web users are spoilt for choices. Dictionary.com, Wikipedia, heck Google even provides a definition link after you do a web search and do the word lookup for you without you telling it! I guess it’s there just in case you don’t know what you are searching for and Google trying to be the end to all search experience.
There is really not much to a word definition lookup, the options are aplenty and the technology required very simple. Well I found a online word definition lookup service that I can actually say is better than any of the other services that I have used.
Ninjawords has a ridiculous name (and you probably wouldn’t associate it with dictionary lookup) , but the service it provides certainly packs a punch.
- It is fast: which is apparently where the name Ninjawords came from.
- It is simple: Dictionary look up is all it does, and it does it well.
- It is AJAX enabled: which makes it quick and responsive
- It keeps a history of all your previous look ups and as you click on words that showed up in previous definitions, it pops the new word definition right below it. This works surprisingly well !
Well, I have been using Ninjawords for my word look ups ever since I found it and I suggest you to give it a go too !
